You can easily switch between new Kickoff Menu style and the good old classic menu style in KDE 4. All you need to do is right click on the menu button to see the context menu. Then click the menu item “Switch to Classic Menu Style“.

If you want to move back to new kickoff menu style, select “Switch to Kickoff Menu Style” in the context menu of start button.
